Pennsylvania high school girls basketball: Meet the state’s best point guards for the 2023-24 season

A Wright State signee, Azzara averaged 14.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.8 steals per game as a senior en route to 6A third-team all-state honors. Entering her fourth year as a starter for Spring-Ford, Azzara is a difference-maker at both ends of the court. 

Perkiomen Valley has a loaded junior class, and Bacani is the best ball-handler of the bunch. She averaged 10.4 points per game as a sophomore and knocked down 40 3-pointers. 

Bolesky put up 15.4 points per game during her junior season for Lancaster Catholic, receiving 3A second-team all-state recognition. She will play college basketball for American University. 

Correa crossed the 1,000 career points mark during her sophomore season at Lebanon. She averaged 18.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.5 steals and was voted 6A second-team all-state. 

Daly is a two-way menace for Seton LaSalle who averaged 21.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 5.3 steals last winter. The do-everything Buffalo signee received 3A third-team all-state recognition as a junior. 

Driscoll runs the point for Allentown Central Catholic and is a deadly outside shooter. Driscol, who averaged 14.7 points per game as a junior and made 4A second-team all-state, will play college basketball for American University. 

Easley put up 13.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and two steals last winter, receiving 4A third-team all-state honors. The tenacious, 5-foot-5 junior plays bigger than her size.  

Eberz started at point guard as a freshman for last year’s Archbishop Carroll team that won the 6A state championship. She netted 12 points in the title game, a 43-37 win over Cedar Cliff. 

Harmon averaged 21 points, 5.6 steals and 4.5 assists last winter and made 2A third-team all-state. She also plays volleyball for Redbank Valley and owns a track state championship in the 400 meters.  

A 5A second-team all-state selection as a junior, Hernandez averaged 14.1 points per game last winter. She is a strong distributor and one of the best 3-point shooters in the state. 

A four-star Cal signee, King is the top-rated senior prospect in Pennsylvania. The athletic left-handed guard averaged 13.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals last year and was voted 3A first-team all-state. 

Another two-way standout, Krarup received 3A third-team all-state recognition last winter. She is coming off a season in which she averaged 20.2 points, five rebounds, four assists and five steals.

McConnell missed her sophomore season while recovering from a torn ACL and came back to help lead North Allegheny to the Class 6A WPIAL title last year. She will play college basketball in the Atlantic 10 for Duquesne. 

Murray averaged 19.7 points, 5.6 assists and 2.3 steals as a junior for Hampton. The Kent State signee entered her senior season with 1,032 career points. 

Noblit put up 13 points per game as a junior and made 5A third-team all-state. She will play soccer in college for Liberty and ended her Greencastle-Antrim career with 110 goals. 

Ranieli averaged 16.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals as a sophomore en route to 5A third-team all-state honors. She is an improving outside shooter who made 35 percent of her 3-point attempts last season. 

A Fairleigh Dickinson signee, Renninger was a 5A second-team all-state selection as a junior. She is a gritty point guard who excels at both ends of the court.

Rissmiller is an athletic senior who can distribute and score from anywhere on the court. The Mary Washington signee received 5A third-team all-state recognition last season after averaging 14 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 4.1 steals. 

Smith averaged a double-double as a freshman and was even better last winter, putting up 24.8 points, 15.6 rebounds, three assists and 4.6 steals. She scored her 1,000th career point midway through last season and was voted Philadelphia Public League Most Valuable Player and 4A first-team all-state. 

Yater is a true point guard who averaged 7.2 points and 4.4 assists as a junior. The floor general is a Saginaw Valley State signee.
